It’s that time of year again when things start to get a little busier in the village. We’ve been quiet over the winter, in hibernation you could say but we have got a few news items we thought might be worthy of a read.
Our new menu launched on Monday April 8th just in time for Easter. We have kept a few favourites like our original scrambled egg on sourdough from Red Dog bakery. We’ve introduced POSH toast (it’s delicious, trust us) and added some more plant based options including our cashew nut cream, avocado & chilli bagel and coconut overnight oats. If you are lucky enough to visit when our toasted banana bread with Greek yoghurt and berries features as a special, it's a must try. For lunch, we’ve also got turmeric cauliflower and kale buddha bowls. Easter will bring out some favourite bakes including Simnel cake, hot cross buns and maybe even some mini eggs. All made by Sharon (our very own Mary Berry).
Our winter turmeric lattes were so popular we are bringing them back, and we will also be selling matcha lattes from Easter onwards. So, if that’s your thing, we’ve got you covered.
We are also looking for another full time cook. We really want to expand our menu even further and do some more events for our locals in the quieter months leading up to summer and also after it’s been and gone, but we can’t do that without another pair of hands in the kitchen. Our chef Stacey is talented but she can’t do it all on her own. If you are interested please pop in and see Lisa and the team or drop your CV over to email@example.com
On our pledge to reduce our environmental impact, we are always trying to reduce how much plastic we use. We are already accredited by Plastic Free North Devon, we sell reusable cups for you to purchase and get discount on when you buy a drink using them. We also ensure our fresh produce arrives free of plastic. Next on our agenda is to completely get rid of takeaway cups, it’s just going to take some planning – all we ask is that you continue to bring your reusable cups and tell others too! We may also plant a herb garden….
And finally as summer is approaching we are looking for food and non-food popups and musicians to utilise the space out the front? Think you might be up for a few nights then get in touch. We want this year to be bigger and better than ever, with a real festival vibe to it and as we get the last of the summer sunshine every afternoon it’s a pretty cosy spot.
See you for an oat milk matcha latte in your reusable cup soon…
